Academy has been working on many fronts to combat
with the deadly disease AIDS. |
| Target Population |
Target Population/project area: Slums and migrant population
of secunderabad
Secunderabad slums Ambedkar nagar, Addagutta ABCD Sections,
Chandrasekhar nagar, and Rasoolpura covering a population
of 3 lakhs.
Innovative BB/IEC materials, Condom exhibitions, Awareness
programmes, Mobile van awareness programme, Peer educators
and community organization formation |

The PSH project is based on the principle of targeted
intervention. The major activities
a) Behavioral Change Communication (BCC);
b) Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) prevention and care;
c) Condom promotion and
d) Enabling Environment. |

Secunderabad Slums (with around 3 lakh total population) |
| Achievements : |
- Till date 28,000 PSH reached through different activities
like 1-1, 1-Group, Focussed Group, Group-Group
- Around 3,200 STD cases have been provided with full treatment.
- The main focus of STD is SCM (Syndromic Case Management),
Parner Notification and Follow-up
- 3 Lakhs 20,000 Condoms have been distributed to the high
risk population with main focus on sensitising on condom,
make them use it in correct & consistent usage.
- EE 32 SHG were motivated to participate in project activites.
Ultimately forming a project core committtee. The members
were local political leaders, police, religious community
leaders & mahila mandali leaders. |

- Identifying 500+ peer educators to make the project
sustainable.
- low-cost innovative BCC material developed
- 800+ volunteers to smoothly conduct project activities
